1 hr. decant really opened this up. Oak flavors are fading, fruit is central but secondary elements are just behind. Peaking and terrific with a few great years ahead.

Exceptional wine. On the nose and initial attack it is bright red, overripe fruit with espresso and a bit of chocolate, both of which carry through to the finish. That is what, to me, makes the wine memorable. I recommend pop and pour because as the wine stayed open over 3 hours it muddled a little biut early on it was focused and clean. Even after the time, it's still a beautiful wine. Flavors explode in the mouth - the fruit (pomegranate and ripe black cherry) as well as the aforementioned espresso and chocolate. Fun stuff to drink. It is drinking beautifully. And I note Richard Jennings' review and I always pay attention to him. But I think what he drank in 2012 is not what I had in 2017. My wine bears little relationship to what Richard described and is far better than 88+. Perhaps then - not now.

- Garnet color with fast forming legs and aromas of strawberry. It's in total harmony and has flavours of strawberry with a medium/full body. Round texture.

Notes: coca, dark espresso, graphite, tart cherry, and mulberry. Unique wine, and enjoyable.
