Kirsch, baking spices, tar and some briar. The sweet raspberry fruit is pleasurable, and the firm tannins do not intrude. Overall, this is a quality CdR if not overly complex.

Anita: Very ripe blkberry, rich nose, almost candy-like with very slight hint of van./cin? Full mth, but slightly dilute; clearly some pepper in there, med. - t’s, sort of hot mth (14%!). Slightly off mth-fin--falls apart a bit, slight bitter notes (esp. 1st night). Not as good as a straight CDR w/burgers.

Consistently a great wine for a dinner party with red meat.
