  Seemed a bit hot out of the bottle. Decanted for 1 hour, after which this wine was phenomenal. Plummy dank blackish fruit on the nose. Plum, deeply marinated cherries, blueberry liquor, a bit of crispy apple, pepper, earth. Wonderful on the palate with lengthy finish. Superb. Drink now with a brief decant and enjoy!

  Decanted for an hour, and this was spectacular. Nose is predominantly lighter fruit with deeper plum notes and a hint of Sambuca. Strawberries, leather, minimal tobacco on the palate and evolving deep tropical notes on the finish, which is lengthy and continuously changing. I've sampled this a few times over the last 4-5 years, and can't imagine this getting better from here. Excellent showing.

  This is in a really nice place right now. Slight mature dark purple fruit tones, but there's some bright red fruit as well. Nice crisp and dare I say a slightly tart subtleties, offering a unique and quite pleasant twist. Long finish. Awesome now, but no rush here ... this should hold up for several more years. Very enjoyable.

  An inky purple. Opens with a dark berry nose, menthol. The fruit aromas tend to fade. Palate is medium-full, still tart and mildly tannic, but the fruit is further in the background than a year ago, making it a bit austere.
