A fruit forward modern style Rioja with fortunately enough acidity and judicious use of oak (French?) preventing it from tasting like a fruit bomb from the New World. A mix of black and red fruits, smoke, wet stone, vanilla and hint of spice. Good concentration, OK length. Alcohol seems to jump out a bit more for my taste. 13.5% abv. on the label but feels more like 14%. A bit extracted with medium plus tannins. Decant for at least 30 minutes to an hour.

Caracter varietal, moras, arandanos, directo y limpio.

Not terribly traditional in style, but also had character.
