Pedro Ximinez anyone? Not unpleasant but not really want I want in a botrytis semillon. I've had a few Noble One's now across the aging spectrum and clearly it's not to my tastes.

Deep golden toffee... kind of gives the game away. The olive rim looked gorgeous as well. Nose of burnt toffee and concentrated/reduced citrus. The palate is great fun: Searing acid and sugar coursing through your mouth leaves you feeling very... alive and full/refreshed. Drink now or hold out for a treacle bomb.

Given this as a gift 8 years ago and unfortunately moved country twice is since buying it. Tried my best to move it by hand from wine fridge to wine fridge but it went very dark brown in the final move and I feared the worst. Opened it for a nice new year's dinner with the wife, with a backup Sauternes on standby! Initial aroma of burnt honeycomb, raisons and almost a hint of blackberry. on tasting, beautifully smooth, raisins and still a hint of apricot but mostly syrup syrup syrup! Survived a lot better than I thought, and tasted great but even against a pure vanilla ice cream was so sweet, I felt diabetes breaking in!! Thank god I opened it rather than throwing it into cooking. An education.

Bit unusual for this wine , it was extremely dark colour like a fortified wine, still very good but not quite as fabulous as normal
