This came across as much leaner than the 2015 Goodfellow Syrah. It was red berry fruited in a little grip but it lacked the power and punch that I like in a Syrah

Started off lean, almost thin. After an hour or so it blossomed and filled in, showing savory elements with herbs and green olives. Good acidity and well focused. Very enjoyable.

Delicious! Shy at first and we decided to pour out of an aerator. Not typical Syrah, at least the ones I’ve had from France, southern Oregon, Wa or Ca. Not a ton of depth, but not needed. This is just so balanced and fun to drink. The bottle was gone in 1hr between the wife I, which is very fast for us. I get menthol in the nose and palate, mint, and dark plum, hint of dried dark fruit. Orange rind runs front to back. Finish is extremely long with chewy tannins. It was my only bottle but will search out more. Such a surprise. 93+. Bravo Marcus.

Pleasant enough on day one, though a bit thin in the mid-palate and rather one-note-fruity overall. More complex on day two with savory elements making themselves apparent alongside the high-toned fruit. Still somewhat hollow in the middle and possibly in need of further aging, but a solid effort and an interesting take on domestic syrah.

I thought this wine was amazing. This isn't a flashy wine. This is a wine that builds in your senses. It's Sondheim in a bottle. It keeps growing on you as you drink it. The acid balance is perfect at the moment. The fruit still is vibrant and youthful but has a maturity like a musician that has found their stride. This paired perfectly with a steak salad.
