The Canard-Duchêne was pale gold and lovely. The nose has a little delicious funk to it – a little melon, a little apple, and a bit of salty, briny cheese. The apple and salinity carry over to the palate, along with a hint of almond and vanilla. A nice clean finish.

Lunch at Meii Sushi with Davyd and T+C. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, gold colour. Legs. Bubbles. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of golden apples, toast, brioche, autolytic yeast. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, low alcohol (12%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of toast, brioche, golden apples, yellow pears. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Fairly simple. Nothing distinctive.

Very savory nose with bread crust, cream, and some red fruit. Super savory palate; lots of cream character. Medium body, medium finish. Very much a BdN, quite good overall.
