Decanted for 1 hour. Didn't seem to get a lot better as we drank it. Some red fruit and a touch of sugar on the nose. Not overly ripe. A nice bottle of wine.

Pop and pour. Tight and tannic with a strong alcohol burn upon opening. Use of a vinturi or 2+ hours of open (non-decanted) air time also dissipated these characteristics. Still retains its dark coloring, dark fruit and graphite on the nose, accompanied by alcohol that diminished with time. Black flavors, fine grained tanins, oak, and more graphite in a glycerin-backed wine that has a medium-lengthed finish.

Black ink in color. Nose was tight but fragrent. It's a medium bodied Syrah with some fruit upfront but the experience is really on the back-end with very silky/strong tannins and a super-long finish that starts with vanillia extract but prolongs into a coco/chocolate flavor for 30 seconds. Truly enjoyed this wine, but for the cost ($50~) would have liked something with a bit more going on upfront. Perhaps the wine has peaked? I'm not sure that I would hold/cellar this wine much longer if I owned more of it.

Decanted two hours. Lovely, round and smooth mouthfeel, Fruit not prominent but balanced. Certainly not over the hill.
