Purchased on release. Wilson Daniels import. Low fill. This needs serious decanting. I gave it six hours, but that was not enough. I saved half for night two and was glad I did. Clear red, ruby color with the slightest orange on the rim. The nose is sous bois. The fireworks are on the palate. Flavors of oriental spices. It spreads out on the palate, and fans out as it goes down.

Exceptional classic DRC nose. Slight brick colour but crystal clear. A bit thin at least by my expectation, but hard to find a better example of Burgundy. Happy I have more but will endeavour ( oh, hardship) to consume over the next two years.

20200808 一支會 at Bellini. Probably my best experience of DRC Richebourg. Subtle, sophisticated, graceful, multi-layered. Compared with Leroy Clos de Vougeot 1994, it is restricted, less expressive, but more focused, giving a tale-telling depiction of the differences between the two great domaines.

Slightly muted aromatics. Palate slightly tart.
