I'm drinking down my inventory of this wine. Normally the ZD reserve is best after a two hour decant. This wine has become a pop and pour. It was more enjoyable this way but still does not live up to other vintages. I had the 2009 last week and the 2009 is holding up much better.

It pains me to give this wine such a low score. I've been a ZD club member for over 30 years and this is one of my favorite cabs. I normally enjoy a 10 year old reserve every New Year's eve. Not this year. I purchased a case upon release and the fruit in the last two bottles was greatly diminished (gone). What was left was some green pepper and back end tannin. Not offensive but not to the wine's normal flavor profile. Drink them now. Note, this wine normally benefits from a two hour decant. This wine did not improve with air time. (Sorry) Note, I opened a 2009 on 4/11/20 and it was beautiful. It held up very well.

Absolutely fantastic! This was the special "chocolate wrapped" gift bottle, and we really enjoyed the pairing of that dark chocolate with the reserve Cabernet from the 2010 vintage. Notes of dense black cherry, a touch of pomegranate and a long finish where a feint hint of toasted nut and smoke draw you back for another taste.

Teri thinks it's a bit bland. Has some earthiness and slight tobacco taste
