  Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chicago, IL): Tasted double blind. (Don't know provenance.) Terribly disappointing, very advanced for this producer at this age. Too ripe, too fat, too tired.

  Just ripe enough and not overly so, a bit of reduction still present. Lovely subtle berry flavors and developing secondary characteristics. A good counterpart to the 96 RSV and Ursules it paired against.

  Balanced and nuanced wine with wonderful black fruit and spice notes. Mature, but should hold for a few more years.
