  • Deep garnet color, cloudy and those initial orange rim hues that I keep getting on these Aussie reds. Long long legs, clinging to the bowl, downwards at a turtle's pace. Attracted be and powerful nose, warmer climate evident on the nose with all kinds of dark berries, cherry and plum, some kind of lavender or other flower, (tabac?) but none of the oak or earth you might get from TN's place of birth. Got some heat as well. Palate medium-bodied, medium-plus acidity, nibbly tannins, medium alchohol, long finish, slight aftertaste. Fruit less apparent, tangier and more leathery than nose. Interesting interpretation of this varietal.

  • Like most of this fantastic range this is incredibly elegant, European-style wine. Great acidity and complexity. This is what the Barossa can do.
