2 hour slow ox. Nose: Lots of slate minerality with cranberries, raspberries and cassis. Palate: Bright cranberries with hints of raspberry and cherry. The minerals show with an almost petrol quality on back palate that is very interesting. Last bottle of this and now 92+ points. Good to go out on a high note although plenty of fruit, acid and tannic stuffing for those who wish to cellar another 2-3 years.

Decidedly tight and a little unforgiving in the early onset of PnP. Some swirling coaxed out crunchy cranberry, red cherry, pomegranate, and butter pulverized stone notes. Finished linear and slightly clipped. Fruit appears pure and clean, with a medium, somewhat lithe body overall.
Surprisingly less accessible than its 2013 and 2014 siblings served alongside this stubborn 2012. Not sure if time will help, but since that’s really the only viable option, I’d suggest holding for another year and hope it stops being a stern little curmudgeon. 88-90 points.

Delicious wine. Delicate palate with strong cherry taste. Medium finish. Tannins balanced. Every now and then a taste of almost green apple on the end. Didn’t change much over the course of the night so believe it’s around it’s peak.

(Lutum Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard) Barrel sample - very dark ruby color; appealing, tart berry, tart cherry, pepper nose; tight, tart cherry, tart pepper, mineral palate with a sense of dried herbs; will need 3-plus years; medium-plus finish 92-93 points

My last of these drunk with parchment paper salmon. Very nice pinot. Plenty of fruit remaining. Drink or hold
