  • Seven (7) years since last visited. P-n-P. & consumed over two (2) nights. Pale lemon color with greenish hue. Green apple, lemon, lime zest & white flowers prevail set upon chalky base. Nimble on the palate retaining active acidity to counter abundant fruit. Gives way to long hi-saline finish. Delicious now but still comes off rather reticent needing several hours to fully unveil. Will be interesting to visit 5-10 years from now.

  • As sharp as the day it was bottled, I imagine. This wine has lemon, green apple, and limestone all over it, and it is tight, tart, and focused. It finishes with a touch of tropical fruit and then a subtle bit of baked apple and blue cheese lingering at the end just to let you know there's been some development after 10+ years.

  • From magnum. I have been skeptical towards the wines of domaine Fevre over the last decade. They just never seem to age, and they are just hard and unwelcoming. But maybe this is because we are drinking these wines too early. This bottle may be proof of that. Although it still is very young in color - almost watery, but with green brilliance - the nose has evolved to include some fascinating tones of vanilla and tropical fruit in addition to the classic notes of lemon, green apples, and a hint of salt and oyster. Medium attack on the palate, the wine explodes in a rainbow of citrus flavors on the mid-palate, and leaves some sweeter fruit tone on the finish. Very long, sits for a minute or more. Searing acidity dominates the finish, so this is clearly a wine that could benefit from 5-10 years more of age (in magnum). Good now at ten years of age, but not a wine to buy if you plan to drink your Chablis early.

  • Little over 4yrs since my last. Coming together but still a brooding intense mineral dominated Chablis w/ classic salinity, lemon, green apple and other harmonics just outside of my limited descriptor vocabulary. I'd love to have had a '12 Fevre Clos alongside to see if I could tell the difference? This wine is squarely in Grand Crew territory. So much intensity & concentration! Still light color and likely to improve and perhaps relax a bit more with age. If, it will just uncoil a bit more it would easily be a 95+ wine. If, I had another btl I'd wait till 2027+. One of my most impressive Fevre MdTs ever! 93+

  • A tasting of three grand crus (clos, preuses, vaudesir 2010) and two 1er crus (montee de tonnere and vaulorent 2012). This is still too young. Marked by a reductive note of flint and matchsticks when opened. Takes a long time to open to chalky tones underlined by citrus and green apples. Medium bodied, not giving very much except for citrus and chalk. The aftertaste is almost a bit tannic, and provides exciting tones of licorice and mint. Long and acidic aftertaste with lots of chalky tones. Not a very easy drinking wine, to be honest. Is this ten years too young, or is this just the style?
