Medium red bright and only slight brick color on rim. Medium tannins and acidity. Medium weight. Surprisingly fresh blackfruits, blackberry and some prune/raisin/fig. The nose is fresh black cherry. Over three hours some fruit faded and tannins became more pronounced. Not sure why I waited so long to drink this wine, now 22 years old, but this California bordeaux blend exceeded my expectation and I'm glad I have five more bottles.

Last Wine Dinner Before the Coronavirus Shutdown (EL Ideas - Chicago IL): Powerful and still reasonably fresh for its age. Lots going on here, but I found it slightly herbaceous and so thought there was some Cabernet Franc here (no, I was told 70% Cab Sauv and 30% Merlot), with some rugged and nearly bitter tannins.

Notes of cherry, fennel and forest floor. Seems like it can go a lot longer. Somewhat fruit forward. Very nice bottle.

The Last Supper (Before the Covid-19 Shutdown) (El Ideas): Herb and tobacco in the red cherry nose. The palate is showing its age with mature, subdued Cab fruit. Time to drink up.
