Revisited: an acidic trip to funkytown. Better than i remember the previous bottle which felt flat and disjointed - this one seems to have benefited from an extra 2 years in the bottle.

Some of the more harsh aspects of this wine may have resolved somewhat since the 2016 reviews. An interesting wine to be sure. I have more of the 2014 vintage, but this was the last of the 2012. Too bad.

first off, this wine may be better in quality than an 85, but it just isnt my style.
That being said, its a pale, cloudy, muddy berry color (definitely unique). The nose is cranberry, raspberry, and minerality. The palate repeats the 3, and also adds spice, some pepper, more earth, and some orange peel.
The finish is medium, she’s incredibly light bodied and soft, yet very acidic.
Unfortunately (or is it? Lol) we have another bottle in the cellar, maybe to open in 2019.

Funky gamay smells. The palate is savory with a touch of red gamay fruit and a bunch of sharp and bitter earth and twiggy herbs on the finish.

Really good. Increasingly, I find myself pulling bottles with this flavor profile. What am I going to do with my cellar full of Bordeaux??
