  • Closed and reticent initially. After 3-1/2 hours, opened into a beautiful wine with bright red berries and roses. Medium-light weight, but good length and persistence.

  • Decanted for an hour served at 19c. Nose gentle with a little spice, (pepper up front) and savoury.
Very pale colour much more like a mature Pinot Noir with the typical Brown/Amber rim.
In the mouth again very gentle a little fruit. But not obvious and a savoury follow through with an edge of bitter cherries or tannin.
Not to my palet at all but nothing wrong with it, no body.

  • Lovely strawberry and tobacco nose. This is a very light Nebbiolo, but what it lacks in power it (perhaps) makes up in approachability and finesse. Delicate, fresh, charming flavours and a spicy pepper tannin finish although it isn't awfully complex and wouldn't be worthwhile cellaring more than a few years. On the one hand I enjoyed this immediacy but I can't help thinking that there ought to be a little bit more here. 90

  • Well I guess I got what I paid for. Perhaps it is in a muted phase, but this barely embodied the elements I love in a good Barbaresco from a good vintage. The 09 Amarone we also had that night blew it out of the water, and it wasn't even that great of an Amarone.

  • Surprisingly translucent red with some bricking. Beautiful bouquet of all things red berried, e.g. fresh, prepared, and liqueurs of cranberry, raspberry, strawberry, and pie cherry, backed by pleasant sappiness (bitters), rosewater, rosehips, raspberry leaf tea, toasted nuts, medium sweet coco powder, and brick dust. Suave and highly appealing on the palate with excellent acidity light dusty tannins. Generous and delicate, balanced, and long. Likely an excellent gateway to more strapping Barbarescos, or even lighter Barolos from the sandy soils of La Morra. Pure sexy! 91-92.
