Clear deep garnet; clean medium nose of horse leather, dust, dried plums/figs and iodine; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of cocoa; long finish; drinking really well now and close to “peak development” for my palate; still has great acidity and tannins to keep going; a powerhouse - paired well with dry aged striploins; a little more muted than our first bottle

Sensual, with pronounced fruit sweetness and a savoury edge. Prune, tobacco, sage. Bordelais grapes, but does not taste like Bordeaux. Neither is it easily recognisable as Tuscan which the best editions are. Perfect for a barbecue or if you like big wines. Does not match the 1999, 2001, or 2004.

This has matured into an excellent wine. It has the most amazing nose I have ever experienced in a wine. Drink now-2025.

Bdx feeling with an italian sweetness. Very good right now with tobacco and sweet black fruit but with a elegant freshness.
