Vertical Tasting of Alpha Domus – The Navigator Tasting the 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2018. Wines tasted over consecutive nights, accompanied by citrus lamb casserole on night one, and homemade pizza on night two. Night One: Stand-out wine of the night, feels like it is drinking at its peak. Well-rounded with fine balance. Fruit and oak integration is excellent. Good progression through the palate, with an ethereal quality and a slightly earthy finish. #1 of 5. Night Two: Some unusual notes on the nose tonight, but still drinking beautifully. Even more mellow than the first night with great balance and a long finish. Run closer by the 2014 in particular tonight, but in the final analysis, still our pick of the five vintages. #1 of 5. #1 of 5, 91/100.

Strong, earthy, graphite and dark plum, some violet and rosemary. Meaty finish. Strong showing, rich, dark, nicely aged - smooth. Drink now but no immediate need. If I had more I'd hold another year or so.

This wine held its own following others three or four times it's price. Lighter end of Bordeaux blends. Fruit forward, with a sweet mid palate, nose of dark fruit and greenery, caramel undertone, some vanilla and mid length finish.
