Amber in the glass. Earthy, roasted almond, burned toast and caramel on the nose. Really bright, fresh palate of orange peel and toasted nuts with fine, vibrant acidity and a very long finish of baked pineapple, salt water and christmas spices. Balanced, fresh and complex madeira. 93-94

Madeira and Champagne (Chicago, IL): Bottle 123/1150. Bottled August 2013. Initial impression: the nose on this is nuttier and less fruit-driven than the sercial. The palate comes off the same way, with more nuttiness and darkness than the sercial. Despite that, there's still a lovely citrus freshness to this wine. A tad sweeter than the sercial too, though the acid certainly isn't lighter here.

En strålande Madeira. En doft med brända smörtoner, citron- och apelsinskal, kola, dadlar, tobak och havsluft med lite sälta. Väldigt bra balans och långt fint avslut.
