Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2015-05; Austria: Grüner Veltliner (By MdW): Floral bouquet with some smoke and minerals as well. On the palate yellow and white fruits, good acidity, a good concentration but also elegant. In this stage hardly any length. Very clean wine but still locked and too young. Try between 2018 and 2020 and the score will probably a few points higher.

Colour: Golden in colour with green reflections. Nose: Mirabelle, green plum, yellow apple, a bit of pear, cold smoke, herbs and a hint of pepper. Palate: Very creamy in texture, compared to the Rieslings I had before. Medium-bodied wine which appeals very fresh & youthful. A bit of citrus aroma on the mid-palate. Fine acidity.
This wine infatuates more by finesse then by power.

Wachau Spring Wine Festival (Wachauer Weinfrühling) (The Wachau): A bit more oomph here than the Steinfeder, with some nice mineral intensity, but not as fresh. € 13. ***
