With bold fruit flavors and accents of sweet spice, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre form the base of the classic Rhone. Nice fruit on the nose, well balanced and surprisingly held together for a 2012.

followed a California Grenache, and the Syrah was evident. Subdued nose, but only decanted 2 hrs, more would help. full-bodied, Still young, good stuff.

I’ve always consumed Rasteau young. What a treat to drink one with a bit of age. Pnp with a vinturi. Medium ruby. Dark fruits and spice box on the nose. Matching flavors on the palate. Rich and textured but definitely not sweet. 10-15 second finish. Paired nicely with Asian glazed pork. Solid QPR. Glad I have a few more to open in coming years.

A nice and fruity wine, but a bit middle of the road for my taste.
