  • There is a prettiness about this, clear fruit, even ever so slightly floral, and clean winemaking with a touch of oak sweetness.

It’s a pity that the alcohol isn’t lower, it upsets the balance.

    14.5% (or more), screwcap.

  • Just keeps kicking on and goals.

A huge people pleaser, it is impossible to hide its quality.

Just purchase a case of 6 of a younger vintage of this wine as it will be a stalwart of my cellar (along with Henschke and Langmiel.

Wish I had more of this.

  • Screwcap, 14.5% alc. Opaque, inky red.

Heady aromas of oak, liqueur-soaked berries, pan juices, and coconut, in front of some earthy and herbal aromas.

Luxuriant in the mouth, as it piles on masses of very sweet fruit and oak, pushing the limits of ripeness. The wine carries its dense wall of flavour very long. Tannins only kick in on the finish, giving the wine a rounded yet persistently drying sensation.

Opinion: Not for the faint hearted. Big, powerful wine, that has enough structure to keep it all together.

  • Tasted along side an Aberfeldy 2009. Both wines under screw cap and unfortunately both wines were not showing, all descriptors heavily muted. Difficult to tell however I suspect both suffered from low levels of sulfur dioxide. Both had been stored under cellar conditions too.

  • After Five years pretty much nothing has changed, maybe a little bit smoother if that was possible. Dark plum colour with crimson edges, ripe fruit but not over sweet, good body, lingering flavours, well balanced wood acid and fine tannins. Excellent length. Still in a very good drinking window and will continue to develop in the cellar. Really good. 94
