  • This bottle was either past its prime or in a funky time on the first night, tasted a little hot and disjointed. The nose has strong fruit, blueberry, dark cherry. The second night (vacuum close), much better: smoky, well-integrated, balanced, and a medium-bodied long finish. 88 night one, 91 night two.

  • Opened and poured. Immediate gratification on the nose - reminded me of tasting young blood at Napa tasting rooms. Deep, young nose of lead pencil, minerals, Howell Mt. spice and pepper. Dark-ish coloring, deep reds to purple. The palate wasn't as nice as the bouquet, but still showing potent fruit, structure and length. Cassis, sweet black cherry. Much better than anticipated given ratings. Similarly bought as part of the hostage program, which is a ridiculous ploy to pawn off wine...but in a way, although over priced, this turned out better than I thought it would.

  • Decent California Cab. Raspberry, blackberry fruit right out of the shoot. Nice complexity with a medium finish. Nothing over the top but a reasonable wine. Wish I had bought mine for $20.

  • Notes not taken at time.

    Not decanted.

    Very nicely integrated Cab Sauv.
Good '05 color, nice black and blue fruits, no heat, moderate tannins.

Better than the impressive '02 Burgess Cab Sauv (the best I've had from Burgess), but similar.

Drink now or within a yr recommended.

    90+ pts B+.

  • Drank before a '00 Juslyn magnum. Both were outstanding. Purchased on Vinfolio for $20. Wish there would have been more avialbale.
