Bright ruby with lovely aromas of pepper, blackberries and earth. Medium bodied (at most), with lots of youthful energy in its raspberry and cherry flavors with a bit of grilled meat. Medium finish with fine-grained tannins, minerals, and white pepper. Much more youthful than I expected, this is nearing peak but seems to have the structure to age 3-5+ years.

Disappointing. not at all what I look for in a Rhone Valley Syrah. almmost a french attempt at making a Shiraz type wine: clumsy, over-done, tired, lacks freshness and balance, no length or finish If, indeed, Kermit Lynch wants to show authentic wines, this is NOT it!

Northern Rhone Reds (Seattle, WA): Tasted blind. Violets, dark fruit, spicebox. Savory body, notes of saline, blood, dried meat and black fruit. Soft tannin, nice acidity. Beautiful.

A savory style, with lots of herbs. Well structured, and the good acidity lends a refreshing brightness to the wine.
