Stawberry rhubarb with a sexy nuanced soil component. It’s more open and rounded than you’d expect, consistent with a tip I got from a friend who opened this recently. Lovely mix of openness and a suggestion of appropriate firmness too. The acid is a good medium plus, getting along well with the fruit well but also asserting itself in a subtle way. Tannins very tame, speaking in very low register bass notes, but giving good sustain on the finish. Great example of a successful 2013. The harmony, freshness and firmness suggest this will drink well through the decade, maybe even better in five years, but it shows its stuff today if given a few hours of air and not consumed in a rush.

At Acker's Wine Workshop Chambolle-Musigny Terroir Tasting at the Michaelangelo NY. First time I have drank a Bonnes Mares except during en-primeur. This has a few years of bottle age but still came across quite primary. Rich fruit and very long finish. Not showing a lot of secondary complexity but very well balanced. Score reflects longer term potential as at this stage it is more like a fruit bomb (albeit a very classy one). 93-94

Delightful and immediately appealing, but also very primary -- gobs of sweet red fruit (almost reminds me of the way some watermelon candy smells) along with a healthy complement of spice. Sweet.

BORGOGNA 2015; 2/22/2015-3/22/2015: Barrel Tasting at the domaine. Florealità entusiasmante. Più materia incapsulata nel nucleo. Polposo e carnoso, ma freschissimo al tempo stesso. Maggiore cilindrata, acidità e mineralità. Tannino di seta. Vino pazzesco. 93-95

Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Visit and Tasting (Mostly) 2013 and 2012 (Chambolle-Musigny): Barrel tasting at the domaine, this is almost done with ML. Mostly showing red cherry and berry aromas and flavors, this is an elegantly styled Bonnes Mares with charming spice. Long and well textured with hints of concentration on finish. TN based on a single barrel, so might not accurately represent the final blend.
