Really crisp aromas with good ripeness and sharp blue fruits on the palate that come across as a little sour. It's almost Lambic in style and would be wonderful on a warm summer day.

Bit of a candied fruity nose. Jammy fruit flavored. Quite sour. Little disjointed. Not sure this comes together with time. Might be the blend - not sure what's in it but perhaps too much franc? Or zin? At least more than usual?
Went back and checked and it does look like the 12 carries more zin (11%) than 2011 (not listed but looks low) and 2010 (1%) BUT - my favorite past Hauts were 2007 (killer - low Zin) and 2009 (50% Zin) - so basically I don't know why its not doing it for me.

Sadly it’s cooking wine at this point.

Probably held onto this way too long (and still have another bottle). Not much changed from my initial tasting notes. We didn’t finish this bottle.

For the record, 2012 blend is:
Syrah 31%
Cabernet Sauvignon 26%
Merlot 15%
Zinfandel 11%
Mourvedre 8%
Cabernet Franc 7%
Grenache 3%

Bright fruit flavors, with the Zinfandel taking the lead. Reminds me of cooler Plavic Mali styled reds from Croatia. Loads of vanilla.
