One of the more amazing aged CA pinots I've had, tho more like a medium-bodied Sonoma cabernet (very reminiscent of an early-mid 80's Kenwood Artist Series) than pinot noir at this stage, which I find remarkable.

Raspberries, soy, pine, spearmint sit on top of a little earthy orange peel. In the mouth it follows the nose, but is less distinct, with the flavor boundaries starting to smudge and smear. Just a hint of the softest tannins as this trails off to a unexpected (though subtle) floral finish. Much better 3 hours into the bottle, so perhaps there is still some mileage left here? My last bottle, so I'll never know...
A lovely pairing with thyme roasted chicken and roasted fall veggies (butternut squash, sweet potato, carrot).

floral nose, rose with hints of strawberry. nicely balances, with more strawberry and cherry flavors, but this wine does not go very deep into the dark cherry or spices. Drinking fine now, but I wouldn't wait too much longer on this 2003.
