Bit of that stinky-Pinot nose (in a good way) Savory dark fruit, backed by a distinct underbrush-woody bite and med tannic grip and med acids. 12.8% Alc.
Punches far above its weight for density of flavor and complexity-great stuff and in peak form right now.
As a Burg guy these days, I had no particular expectations except for winemaker Jay MacDonald's words echoing in my ears from years ago: "Mo's Estate bottling is something special".
Jay was right and Mo nailed it in 2013, a challenging vintage.

Color looks good for age but it's the only thing that's right about this bottle. Decent nose but there's zero fruit on the midpalate, so we set it aside to wait for further developments and instead of fruit we get rotting cabbage. Those evil mercaptans!

Maturing burnished dark red color, filtered clarity. Aroma and flavor matched with dark cherry, canned tomatoes, cinnamon, thyme and earthiness. Excellent, and at peak.

Really, really good. Was a great pairing with duck with tonight's dinner.

Drank over two days. Mo's estate wine is singing right now with savory red fruit, lively tannins, buoyant acid, and a long finish. Beautiful.
