a bit too aggressively textural and phenolic bitterness drives the midpalate and finish. has all the components of snap pea/white pepper/wasabi, with white peach and the first signs of petrol, but with no charm to bridge the fruit and savory, just bitterness in the middle. it certainly is a style of its own, but just too much.

Nose - crisp green apple, lime, lovely fresh nose Mouth - flinty, bone dry, green apple with a bit of unidentified spice. I can see this washing down a nice grilled fish.

I served this in my wine course. Mint and vegetable nose. I often read about tea for GVs, and I think I'm finally getting it in this one. Light, mid palate, moderate finish. Overall a bit too green (ignore pun) for me in the sense of loads of vegetable in the nose. Gruner Veltliner is one of the few varietals for which I almost always prefer a later harvest, unless I'm drinking it by the pitcher with Selchfleisch.

Virtually devoid of fruit right now except a touch of lemony pith, good but kind of severe and stony.
