I know this is supposed to be way past it's prime, but I had it tonight and still very good. Enjoyed with various cheeses. A beautiful deep golden color with a slightly rich, buttery taste without being overly done. It held up well!

I discovered Russian Hill's 2003 Gail Ann's Vineyard chardonnay in the bottom of the wine cooler. I was afraid after 5 years, it may be past its prime. Fortunately, this wine was very good. We enjoyed it with Copper River Salmon flown in from Alaska. The pairing was wonderful. The wine was crisp, fruity, bu not too oakey like many CA Chardonnays. Highly recommended.

For the rest of you who haven't discovered Russian Hill's 2003 Gail Ann's Vineyard chardonnay... well, I feel sorry for you! My wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying this tonight with some freshly caught salmon from Lake Ontario (in Upstate New York). Crispy, smooth, balanced, meaty, full, delicious, expressive, I don't know where to go with this... Russian Hill has figured it out: how to best compete with the French! This chardonnay is a truly world class bottle of wine which compares favorably with some of the greatest French competitors (chassagne montrachets or premier cru chablis' ) that we've ever tasted.
