  • Lovely but a little too polite for sustained interest
This is a nice, light, approachable scotch that's easy to enjoy. Toasty grain and vanilla on the nose, and those notes lead the palate as well. There's a bit of honey and some toasty oak alongside them in the flavor. Mild finish. This whiskey is like a person who always makes you smile but never makes enough of an impression on you that you actually remember their name. Always a pleasant experience, and always welcome on my bar, but not deeply memorable.

  • Classic...served neat (most times few drops of water) to allow to open and enjoy. Occasional on the rocks is not bad either when any full on Scotch is just too much at the moment (and we find for those who do not enjoy the bite of served neat, they like on rocks). This one is on par to serve both ways. True classic cannot make any complaint on we enjoy thoroughly and order most at bar or event with limited drink options, solid go-to when out and about the past 15 years.

  • Decent, light, nothing special but not bad.

  • Tasted blind. This whisky was medium yellow-golden in colour and had an expressive nose of apple, peach, toffee, vanilla, peat, cereal, malt and a hint of smoke. On the palate the whisky showed apple, peach, orange peel, toffee, cereal, malt and a hint of mint, with some sweetness and very mild spiciness, warming alcohol and average length. A mild herbal note emerged on the aftertaste. This medium-bodied whisky could have been longer, but the warming alcohol cut off the flavours and you could call it upfront in that sense. It was defined by being a little sweetish and comparatively balanced and smooth, yet lacked any true differentiating factor that would make it memorable or set it apart.
