PnP, but better after ~15 minutes of air. In fact, due to the sediment we experienced, it may be best to do a short decant. The color was a deep violet to a watery rim. Definite black notes on both the nose and the medium bodied palate -- blackberry, black currant, black licorice and lots of earthy notes. The acidity was quite crisp and there was just a touch of tannin on the finish. I would suggest drinking these up as any further development would probably not be positive, although the wine could hold for a couple of years.

I was concerned about this wine as I did not care for the 2012 vintage. AT least for me, this 2013 and the 2012 Tierra Alta might as well have been completely different wines from completely different producers. This one - the 2013 - was pretty full bodied and quite enjoyable to drink. It had a nice sort of baking spiciness to it to go along with ripe blue fruits. It should have been decanted as evidenced by the fact that it continued to improve the longer it was open!

beautiful Tensley syrah at a perfect place! Fruit forward, round and juicy, great mouthfeel, toast and spicy finish of several minutes. Well behaved tannins. Great pairing with lamb.

Inky purple and opaque in the glass; blackberry, blueberry, fig, and leather aromas on the nose; tastes of blueberry and wet rock on the palate; full-bodied, medium acidity, medium tannins; long finish. Blueberry pie in a glass with smooth, velvety tannins. Well balanced and amazing!!

Lighter than the Colson Canyon but with more body than the BMTs, this Syrah is dark brooding and racy with plenty of wild fruit characteristics. Always enjoyable from Tensley - one of the best producers out there.
