A wine from a different era. Very mature now, but the nose seems to pull together enough cassis so that the cedar, cigar, pyrazine notes don't totally dominate. Still quite tannic on the palate, as I suspect many of these 75s will be until their dying day. Alive, but I'd have preferred getting at this about 10 years ago.

. I’ve liked this more before- there’s still a nice fruit base here, but it seems to be drying out on finish, and without a steak to balance it seems the tannins are still gritty. B-/C+

Carried as a “Wild Goose” wine for St Patricks day dinner. Fully mature, still some solid plum and cassis fruit, a little chocolate with the cedary finish. Not deep or complex, but pretty good example of mature claret, with no excessive 75 tannin, best bottle of this I’ve had. B+

Dark and inky.
Nose of sweet shoe polish and prunes.
Taste of sweet old cabernet fruit. Good acidity, medium weight, fading gracefully.

1975 and 1985 Bordeaux (Dan & Mila's place): Badly corked. Horrendous.
