A Loire Afternoon (SF Wine Trading Company, Tofino Wines, and Home): Deep core. Unusual candied fruit, high toned aromatics that are less herbal than most Cabernet Franc. Medium weight, blueberry fruit and a definite twist of blood orange (as one sometimes finds in red Burgundy). High acidity and significant grip without being too lean or austere. This is not typical, but it is serious and interesting. Much better than when tasted a year ago. Hold for several years.

Light ruby. Thin and very tart with some olive but little fruit. Unenjoyable.
