Dinner at Cafe Istanbul (Chicago, IL): I'm always happy to try gamay because maybe one day, I'll find a bottle that I actually really give a damn about, but alas this is pretty par for the grape. Mild funk, candied sweet fruit, and an aspartame-like sweetness.

I know, I know. 100 points? I don't give a shit about points I just love this wine. Garnet and thinning at the edges. Not star bright but probably because they dont sterilize it. Explodes out of the glass. Cherry, cranberry, black licorice, candy, Sprees, sour patch. Intense but lithe on the palate. Berries and tea and herbs. Loooong. Complex. Integrated. Perfect.

This is fabulous; the nose has beautiful red fruit, lots of floral lift, a bit of savory smoky notes, hints of spice and minerality. The palate is delicious with incredible energy and a bead of minerality that is just excellent. This is as good if not better as many village level Burgundy wines. A definite re-buy as often as I can find it.

Fun wine to drink. Bursting with crunchy red tart cherries and red fruit enveloped with light smooth tannin. Needs either a year or two more in the bottle or an hour or so in the glass to evolve and open. Enjoyed popping and pouring and tasting as it evolved.

the scents are delicious, like a wave of red fruit chews through the nostrils, also some floral aroma, concentrated, with a wild strawberry core, this bottle oozed fresh berry fruit and bright dragonfruit flavor, soft and easy to drink, this finishes with tangy energy that causes tongue buds to crave for more, washed down grilled chicken and tofu with ease
