Nicely balanced with no need for decanting. Still good structure but softer tannins. I’m a fan of Syrah and this one did not disappoint with notes of dark fruit and cassis. I think we opened at just the right time, but could still lay down in the bottle a bit more.

Black fruited nose with some plum, on the palate get similar flavors but also a little oaky with some vanilla, in time this does blow off a bit to yield more of the aforementioned fruit flavors. This is a bit tannic and has a moderate acidity. This has a lengthy finish and a very big mouthfeel. This is good but not great, as a side note I'm not a fan of California Syrah which is a substantial component of this if I remember correctly. I prefer the other La Sirena wines to this (e.g. cabernet sauvignon, malbec and grenache) and don't quite think this one is worth the price. Price aside it is still pleasurable.

Dark red, full body. Nice aroma upon open. mostly coffee taste initially, fruits come around after about an hour. Firm polished tannin. Long slightly sweet aftertaste.
Wine maker: Heidi Barrett 80% syrah, 17% cabernet sauvignon, 3% cabernet franc. Calistoga/Oakville 45% new French oak 22 mo. 205 cases made
