  The Return to Oinoscense (Oinoscent, Athens): Decanted a served and really this is still very much on the start of its drinking window with night energetic but polished fruit and a lot of spice. We do not remember The Factor as having so much spice from earlier bintages but this was more of that style rather the more restrained style of vintages past that we recall . Good wine but still very young we felt and with lots more to prove . 91 for now

  100% old-vine Barossa Shiraz. Totally opaque almost black ruby in the glass. The nose is very pure and expressive with beautifully defined dark plum, blackberry, chocolate, cherry, earth, five spice and cured meats. The palate is rich and concentrated with a nice balance between ripe dark fruits and dried, savoury notes. At 10 years of age the tannins are now silky and almost fully resolved leading into a long, building finish. This is a big, uncompromising Barossa Shiraz that still feels pretty youthful but overall lacks the complexity to really move to the next level.

  The wine is much brighter and youthful compared to 08,09,10 tasted before, ripe red currants and berries, olives too
  Palate shows tannins, medium to full body, ripe black cherries, black currants, high acidity, chocolate, first vintage with alcohol heat from the 15.50%, medium finish. tight and rather aggressive as it is.

  The wine is clear, with deep ruby color and thick legs.
  On the nose the wine is clean, with medium plus aromas of ripe red fruits, plums, red forest berries, fresh meat, and earthiness notes.
  On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium ripe tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus flavors of ripe red fruits, cooked and steamed vegetables, dried fig, fresh cooked meat.
  The wine is of a very good quality, due to its complexity, length and vibrancy. It is enjoyable now, but can benefit from slight further aging, in order to balanced even more between the fruit driven style and the secondary flavors it has in its potential.

  Still a very young wine. Opulent, ripe fruits but with a core of acidity. Not my usual style of wine (I prefer the refinement that cooler-climate shirazes generally bring) but this was, unequivocally, an exceptional bottle of wine. Drunk over the course of the evening and I was wishing for more after finishing the last glass. Full-bodied with a long-length.
  
  Our only bottle from a visit to the winery, but would definitely buy again, if only to see how this ages as there was nothing to suggest that it will fall over any time soon like some other high-alcohol, over-oaked points-chasing messes that I have had the misfortune of trying in the past...
