  • Last bottle of set. Nice Saint Emilion tertiary with high acidity. Holding up well. 2nd night opened, has come together 2nd night. Has increased with acidity.

  • Second bottle opened. Capsule had been breached over the years by angel share volatiles. Capsule is of lead material. Old school, perhaps sweetened the wine a bit? Cork decay very noticeable. Cork slippage progressed fast into the bottle.
Wine a bit Porty. Old tertiaries dominant. Old house, leather, nutty (oxidation), dank cave with a bit of forest floor. Umami mushrooms (aged dried porcini) on the palette. Still a nice and fresh acidity streak present. Actually, enjoying it for the first cold night here in California.

  • Still somewhat kicking, though definitely on a downward trajectory. Old vintage.
Bottle is built differently than the modern bottle and there is an interesting thumb sized picture probably of owner of Clos Jacobins above the front label. Bottle was well kept and picture is very vivid and clear.
