All the hot tannins have dissipated. Was good with a steak dinner. Without food it would have been a bit flat. Medium mouth feel. Notes of leather, deep developed fruit (but not fruity) and grass.

Two very different wines. Started nicely, but halfway through the bottle it was dominated by a harsh acid that wasn't there to begin with. At its best 91 at the end 87 thus average 89

My memories of this Shaw offering have been set by the 2014, so my expectations were pretty low
So it was a pleasant surprise to taste something nicely balanced with a finish of bramble acidity. Tannins controlled, colour starting to take a dark crimson/brick hue.
I don't see it lasting long at this level, maybe 18 months.
Good but poor QPR

Drinking well now. Good structure, muted fruit and a finish that rode the line between really good and unexpected.
