Off label for Les Roches Blancs (Nicolas Gueusquin)

No disgorgement dates but according to the size of the cork some serious bottle age.

Opens up with moderate fruit, pear, apple and some bitter notes.
With a bit time apple becomes the dominant quickly.

Taste is unlike the bouquet, quite balanced, decent fruit, moderately sweet without feeling candied
    rather low acidity until now.

But some nice aftertaste vanilla and toasted notes.

Bouquet quickly changed to a pretty sour lemon lime mix.

Next day the bouquet changed to more modest apple notes.

Now acidity woke up and gives a decent crunchy bite to the fruit profile.
    Very nice and nicely balanced.
A bit lacking in complexity department but for the price quite nice.

On a sidenote, dont wait too long, at some point it feels like the whole balance collapses a bit and loses fruitiness and whats left of freshness.

So not a bad aperitif vintage.

  • Pale yellow color. Many small bubbles. Palate is simple. A bit too sweet for my taste. Easy drinking.
