Tasted over 2 hrs -dark red minimal clearing -candied black cherry/raspberry faint herbal note and hint of cream -med acidity gives a lightly tart kick to the finish, med/med- weight rather low key but focused faintly medicinal black raspberry fruit with some earthiness that adds complexity, med/med- gentle tannins -good concentration and ripeness for the vintage, lively and very good now on a mature plateau, nice complexity

Good stuff. Lithe and delicate on the palate with gentle red fruited flavours, faint herbal and spicy (stemmy?) accents, and a savoury earthy/stony mineral element beneath. A wonderful lightweight Burg that's very easy to drink, and a nice introduction to the producer.

Not surprisingly, this was utterly two-dimensional on the first night, not much more than a generic light-bodied pinot with some pleasant fruit. After 24 hours corked in the cellar though, it gained an impressive amount of depth and complexity, exhibiting delicate texture and some great savory characteristics alongside the zippy fruit. The structure for aging is clearly evident, but it's worth enjoying one over a few days if you have bottles to spare.
