Based on previous notes, I decanted this for about 45 minutes, which allowed the wine to warm up as well. A really nice nose on this now, nice mature yellow apple tones with a touch of beeswax and minerality. The palate is delicious, with ripe apple and honey tones, savoury and rich. In an excellent spot now!

This is a fairly demanding wine for those unfamiliar with Savennieres. This bottle was opened and double decanted. It was initially too cold (40°-45° F) to appreciate and needed a good 2 hours of air to really open up. The color is definitive yellow gold. Nose of apple, melon, flint, and leesy. Fruit became more evident as the wine warmed up. This is a complex, medium to full-bodied wine with plenty of acidity, minerality, and lees on a long finish.

Significant oxidization, nuttiness, wax, and herbs. Seemingly a touch overdone, though not without retaining appeal.
