  • Leaning towards the end of its shelf life so drink up if in your inventory. Medium plus, decent finish and legs.

  • Smooth, ready upon opening. Second glass started to lose its legs and depth. Medium plus, dry but structurally smooth.

  • This was still very nice, but I’ve got to drop at two points. I opened it and decanted it for almost 2 hours.

Color was still nice, dark read – black and clear. The aroma, which was very nice upon the opening, has faded away significantly. Same with the taste, which initially was very similar to my last bottle in February. Very interesting transition on this. My last bottle and I actually wish I had more, so I could compare.

Have to say, I may be disagreeing with some of the other comments that stated this had a few years remaining. I will vouch for the winery that make this, their standard wines are Spectacular, some of the best value Cabernets in Napa and very age-worthy. To be completely transparent, I am also a member of their wine club and the price for this Secoya Cellars CS was what I pay for their core CS offering.

  • Much better when allowed to open up. As I mentioned with my previous post, has a few years to run in the bottle.

  • A delicious Rutherford Cabernet with a Superb QPR. I think this was a bit of an “experiment” from the winemaker of very large and well-known Napa Valley winery (of which I'm a wine club member of :-)).

Overall, this is a big, round, fruit forward and powerful CS that is just perfect with a big grilled piece of meat! Aroma was awesome with great dark fruit, taste follows along with Earth, oak, black fruit, dark cherries and plum. And to be fair, the winery that actually makes this is in the middle of Rutherford and I taste a boatload of Rutherford Dust in it!!!

This is just really good stuff, especially at $25! I believe it’s sold out and this experiment has been put to bed though, bummer.
