Popped and poured for NYE 2023 --> 2024. No formal notes, but this was classic Bollinger: deep gold in color, with notes of biscuit, bruised apples, and pears, all coupled with a crisp mouthfeel and finish. Very nice. I’m sure a lot of the price of this wine is for the packaging, but there’s still a quality product inside. Cheers to an interesting 2024!

Some aldehyde to the nose, bread baking next door. Not in my house. Creamed hazelnut aromas. Orange juice, not zest. Palate is dynamite with loads of freshness. Has some little chewy extract on the palate.

Marked smokiness on the nose, which we rather enjoyed. Would pair very well with food (although I have to admit that we had no problem quaffing it all by itself). Aromas: smoke, red apple, lemon, wet stones, bread dough, hints of forest strawberry and charred wood Flavors: brioche, pear, quince, lemon, lemon zest, smoke, vanilla, hints of chalk and salt

At Elmar's house towards the end of a relaxed afternoon with families. The champagne was light gold in colour and offered stone fruit, tobacco, biscuit, smoke and flint on the nose and palate, with creamy mousse, a great, creamy mouthfeel and incredible length of the flinty finish. The full- to medium-plus bodied champagne was incredibly balanced, with a smooth, lovely, intriguing texture. Great champagne! Thank you, Elmar!

71" b-day party: PnP. Nice and smooth drinking but not different from typical Bollinger. Great for party
