Dark ruby color. Very fruity in the nose, typical Ahr pinot noir notes. On the palate very round and slightly sweet. Nice, easy-drinking wine which should keep well for some years but probably won't profit much neither. Didn't taste the vegetal aspects others are talking about.

Quite surprisingly, this bottle is much more supple, juicy and approachable than the one tasted in April 2019. It is fragrant and pure, medium bodied (13.5% ABV), fresh and with mild tannins, slightly green finish has good length. A decent effort in this difficult vintage.

Let’s not beat about the bush: 2014 was a difficult vintage in many parts of Germany, and this Spätburgunder bears the scars. Aromas and flavours are light and in the drier and more vegetal part of the spectrum, even though there is also some blue fruit and a floral aspect; the palate is supple and juicy, with a pleasant note of strawberry yoghurt, but the finish is on the vegetal side and slightly hot. Age will not improve it, maybe soften it a bit, but basically it is what it is. Drink up.

Very similar to my previous note, but just a bit more creamy and rounded. From this bottle, a really attractive wine.

Académie des Cinquante Moselle / Ahr Tasting (Restaurant De Burgemeester *, Linschoten, Netherlands): Very closed at this stage, autistic almost, drying, uncommunicative, cherries, seems well balanced, good length. Starts to become a little more expressive after a few hours. Needs two to three years.
