New Zealand Trip; 2/10/2024-2/24/2024: By the glass pour. Deeper color than the 2021 Te Koko but still light for its age. Much more noticeable varietal green tones and soil on the nose. Riper, richer style with lower acidity. Blurry fruit, lots of soil, but too much oak. This is not tired but it feels plodding and dull. No contest compared to the younger wine.

Always wanted to see how does slightly overdue New Zealand SB taste, so now after 6 years I am back to 2015 vintage. Color is still vivid, pale straw with green hue. Aroma quite subdued, far from intensity and expressiveness or complexity it was all these years ago, notes of grapefruits, grass, stone, peaches, hints of asparagus. Palate is still fresh and firm with bright and pretty austere acidity, some good fruit complexity lingers till lengthy finish. Still good, but less interesting, subdued and bit tired.

Blinded, the distinct petrol aromas would have stonked me towards Riesling. The grassy fragrances and distinct nettles would have jerked me towards SB. What a pickle!
From the pleasure POV, this is an easy pleaser as it has a lofty architecture, allowing its minerality to play solo. Quite a spectacular showing.
I'm so happily distracted by this wine's benefits that its drawbacks get ignored. Just so you know, her drawbacks are: . Thin on the palate . Short and abrupt . Tastes just like a bodyless Diesling.
This vintage, I'm lifelong done with. But curious of other vintages.
Day 2 ====== Work.
Day 3 ====== This is quite a stomachfull of dead ladybug larvae. In case that is your thing, this wine is 100 points. Otherwise, this wine is 'interesting'.

Opened this in our stateroom during our vacation onboard the Royal Carribbean "Quantum of the Seas."
Straw yellow on colour, with notes of dried hay, capsicum, wet stones and grapefruit. Crisp, clear and clean finish.
Good, but not as harmonious or balanced as the previous vintages. May start to gravitate my favourite New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc towards Dog Point or Greywackle.

My preferred wine with oysters. This 2015 did not disappoint.
