This one is a major step up from the Beerenauslese, with a superbly elegant balance of sweetness, apricots, spice and fig. Complex and varied, this is one that you want another glass just to check out how it evolves with air or to inspect some flavor component more closely. Less apparently cloying than the BA, too, oddly enough. A very nice wine indeed, no wonder it's $400 or more a 375. Highly recommended.

Concentrated, thick and explosive, this thing is off the charts. It’s like essence of tarte tartin with an incredibly sweet caramel sauce. Everything is held together by a huge lick of minerally acidity but one small glass really is enough (I think I had two).

Finishing HRH's anniversary week in (mostly Italian) style: Ripe apricot, a little candied citrus peel with fig, spiced apple and brilliant, balanced acidity. This was a marvelous treat

Rudi Weist German Tasting (presented by David Bowler) (Tribeca Grill): raisins, prunes, botrytis and concentration (almoust like essencia)
very rich wine with a ton of RS.
