Friendsgiving (SOMA, San Francisco): Light red fruit, some distracting bitterness. Slight maturity. Good, nothing more. 83

Funk and earth with with red fruits and rather coarse tannin. Nothing extraordinary, but a solid food wine for the price.
Some red fruit on the nose. Nice color. Light bodied. Raspberry and slight pepper on the palate. Short, smooth finish.
Light, insipid flavors. A lifeless wine, which is a departure from previous vintages which were flavorfull and always good value.
I really enjoyed this. Definitely punches above its weight and reminds me that Grenache - when done well - can be pinot's spicy cousin.
