  • Good dark garnet color, medium full bodied, very nice nose, more dried herbs than zinberry; palate is a bit reserved, flavorful but not exuberant, dark fruited, with a lovely complexity of dried herbs, hints of anise, cardamom, drinking well, invites anither sip soon after the previous one. Tannins are there, and probably stronger than they seem, hiding behind the firm fruit that underlies the wine. Loving this bottle tonight with a Flannery burger, though can’t help but think it has many years ahead of it. Don’t let the simple “Sonoma County” designation fool you, this is serious Zin.

  • There is a lot going on here to like. As noted in recent TNs - a rich nose of berries and a palate of dark berries and cherries. Thanks Mike!

  • Consumed over multiple nights and held up well over both nights. Lovely blackberry/raspberry fruits, anise, teases of coffee, nice interplay between acids and velvety tannins. Easy to use screw cap, WAY over delivers.

  • Electric fruit…drawing out gaining a little secondary spice…rudimentary and a little out of balance …which works for pizza wine :). Amazing this has aged easily for 7 years .

  • Bright berry nose. Lush, sweet fruit, raspberry, blackberry. Fine tannins, great acidity and balance. Hint of anise on mid-palate. Finishes moderately long with spice and red fruits. Lovely, classic Zinfandel. Not at the level of Mike's SV Zins, but that's a pretty high bar. Drink over next 2 years. Note: I posted this mistakenly as the Carlisle Vineyard. That note has been deleted; ignore it if you have already read it.
